Oscar the Grouch or Oscar the Great?

OH THE OSCARS!!!

I am a huge fan of all award shows.  Doesn't matter what it is, I like when people get recognized for their achievements.  Art is Art.  Here's my highlights.

Hugh Jackman, you talented piece of man meat.  Hosted by and performances by....this man is pretty much the epitome of an Actor.  I think he did a wonderful job hosting!  I watched the whole thing and only got bored a few times.  



Boozum alert!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tina Fey.  She looked hot as hell and her and steve martin did a little funny bit.


Kate Winslet.  Meh....she's beautiful and talented.  Nuff said.

The guy who wrote MILK.  Openly gay and letting everyone know it! It was a great speech and it was the truth.  Kudos for using the platform to subtely speak about something important.

Ben Stiller is getting on my nerves.  I didn't even realize until the day after the show he was mocking Joaquine Phoenixes interview on Letterman (I  thought he was just dressed up like  jewish guy).  Stiller was lucky that Natalie Portman was there to make us all look like horrible, lazy human beings...because she is LITERALLY PERFECTION.  I love her.


The Show was good, I love when they put together big musical numbers.  It gives the audience a taste of how talented some of these actors and actresses are (Anne Hathaway/Hugh Jackman).

Otherwise, still a room full of overpaid diva's and a-holes.

I'm a quitter....

Well, i've decided after some deliberation in my own head.  That i'm going to attempt to quit smoking (yet again).  In the past i've successfully quit for a while...a few years, but i've pretty much been a smoker since I was 15/16 years old.

Not a good habit, I know it's not.  When I quit in the past I don't think I was addicted to nicotine, but now, I definitely think I am.

So....i'm just quitting.  End of story.  Haven't smoked today and won't.  It's a dumb habit.

On the show tomorrow (Friday) all of us are going to have nicotine gum during the show.  No more smoke breaks!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who has had such positive things to say about our little show. =)

Told to listen to a song..and then....

I was told to check this Band out...The Bird and the Bee


And I dug it.  So I was listening to more songs, and I ran across my favorite Talking Heads song.  The Bird and the Bee re-did it.



So I dug them a little more.  Then I noticed where the video above was from, The North Star Bar in Philadelphia.

I saw Jesse Malin at The North Star bar in Philadelphia about 4 years ago.  So I looked up Jesse Malin.  


The sound sucked on that video, but it was also from the North Star Bar but just last year.  Jesse Malin was a killer live show. That got me thinking to the Ryan Adams concert in Battery Park I went too, where I first heard Jesse Malin, he opened for Ryan Adams.  It was a sick concert at Batter Park on July 4th in NYC.

So I found this video of Ryan Adams singing New York New York....


Ryan Adams is one of the best song writers of my generation I think.  Ryan Adams  in NYC got me thinking about when I saw ZWAN.  Zwan was a band that Billy Corgan (of the Smashing Pumpkins) formed.  I loved this band....they came out with only one or two cd's I think.  I saw them twice, once in Manhattan the other in Philadelphia.

A little truth

A little insight....on nothing important.

Jack Black's photo was taken this week on vacation or something.  It wasn't ripped to shreds, it was more of an ode to him and his stout body.  Not exactly the hottest guy in the world, but there's a bangin chick sitting next to him, and he still looks handsome.




Jessica Simpsons picture was taken last week too.....this became the story of the week.  She was ROASTED for gaining weight.  Her outfit is horrible, but it's not like she gained 100 pounds.  She looks like the majority of the women in America.  YET.....blasted, she was torn to shreds about this....and probably in a month, she will be a twig again.  Thrusting her into the spotlight...much like nicole richie, ashlee simpson and britney spears....(why do we even know who these people are?)



I'm not sayin either is good or bad.  These are celebrities and I could careless about them.  Entertain me clowns.  But still, it's a little effed up.  When did everyone in the world get the right be such d!ckweeds to anyone they wanted and just get away with it?
